Volunteer Vacancies

volunteer

Here at Beaumond House, we are committed to providing training and development opportunities to our volunteers.

All new recruits receive a general introduction to the Hospice as well as a personal induction to your role.

Additionally, we can arrange any further training courses that you may need, tailored to each individual.

Day Therapy (10.00am – 2.00pm)

Day therapy hosts small groups of patients in an informal and welcoming setting, where they can enjoy activities ranging from art and craft to movement classes, with occasional visits from alpacas, Shetland ponies and tortoises! Our volunteers offer invaluable help, welcoming and chatting to patients, serving meals and supporting with practical tasks throughout the day.

Volunteer Drivers

Our volunteer drivers are an essential part of our hospice service, transporting patients to and from Day Therapy sessions. It's a sociable and rewarding role, and we provide full training on all aspects of conveying people safely and happily from home to hospice.

Shop Volunteers

With four busy shops in Newark, Southwell and Collingham we are looking for people who can help with a range of tasks from serving customers to sorting stock, from creating displays to collecting furniture. Our shops are at the heart of raising the funds needed to run Beaumond House and a vital part of our work to support and promote our services.

Fundraising & Events

We are always in need of people to support us at events and activities which showcase the hospice or raise money for its services.  This could be anything from manning a stall at a local fair to distributing collection tins to local shops.  In short, something for everyone to do.

Administration and Reception

We occasionally have openings for volunteers to help with administrative tasks such as preparing bulk mailings or recording donations on our database. We also staff our reception desk with volunteers and currently have an urgent need for someone to look after this for a few hours on Sundays from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Gardening and Facilities

If you've green fingers or a gift for DIY and maintenance we can put you to good use around Beaumond House or in its much admired gardens.  We take great pride in presenting the hospice at its best and you could be a part of that too.
