Beaumond House Southwell Shop opening this Saturday

On Saturday 11th July we will re-open our Southwell shop to the public after closing on all three of our shops on March 21st in line with evolving Government Guidance Beaumond House in response to the rapidly developing Covid19 pandemic.

The three shops in Newark, Collingham and Southwell generate a significant percentage of £640,000 we need to raise every year to ensure that Beaumond House Community Hospice can continue to provide essential services to local people.

Gary White, retail manager at Beaumond House said; “Although the lost income is critical to us we remain committed to ensuring that we do not open our shops until we have provisions and processes in place to keep customers, volunteers and colleagues safe. We are now confident to move forward by re-opening Southwell shop as part of a phased re-opening.”

The shop will re- open for the first day’s trading on Saturday 11th July between 9.00am - 2.00pm and we look forward to welcoming customers back to a very different looking but safe shop.

Gary went on to confirm, “We expect to be opening for two days a week initially but this will gradually increase over the next few weeks until we are back to a normal trading pattern. The most important thing for us is that we present a safe trading environment for both our customers, staff and volunteers. We are pleased to be making this step forward as it means we will begin to once again generate vital income. However we are even more pleased to be moving forward safely. We will be announcing re-opening plans for our other shops in Collingham and Newark shortly and expect to have all three operating again by early August.”

Customers visiting us can expect to see all of the now familiar signage, floor markings, hand sanitiser and till screens and can be confident that we are a safe place to shop. We will also now be able to take card payments in our Southwell shop.

We would also like to assure customers that all donations will have been isolated for a minimum of 72 hours before our usual processing and presentation for sale. This is in line with current guidance and will remain part of our new way of working going forward.

To further ensure that we are protecting everyone’s safety we will not be accepting any donations directly into the Southwell shop.

We will of course ensure that we advise supporters when this changes.

We look forward to welcoming you back safely!
