Here at Beaumond House, we are committed to providing training and development opportunities to our volunteers.
All new recruits receive a general introduction to the Hospice as well as a personal induction to your role.
Additionally, we can arrange any further training courses that you may need, tailored to each individual V
Volunteer Driver
We would be grateful for a driver available for pickup and drop off at 10am and 2pm respectively for either a Tuesday or a Friday.
Reception Volunteer
We are in need of Tuesday reception volunteer asap for our hospice reception. The role is 11.00am-1.00pm every Tuesday.
Gardener
To help keep our gardens and borders neat and tidy and create a space which is welcoming, colourful, and therapeutic.

To help keep our gardens and borders neat and tidy and create a space which is welcoming, colourful, and therapeutic. Volunteer gardening roles are under the supervision of the Facilities Lead.

Collection Tin Coordinator
To distribute and collect Beaumond House collecting tins and promotional material across your area, helping to raise vital funds for and awareness of, your local hospice. To act as an ambassador and advocate for Beaumond House with existing supporters and potential new supporters. Find a full description here.
In-patient support role
Volunteers in the inpatient area play an integral part in the care that our patients and their families receive. Spending time talking to and listening to our patients is very important and very rewarding.
Tasks such as making drinks for relatives and visitors, helping patients with craft activities, ensuring that the patient’s water is fresh and within easy reach, taking the daily menu round for patients, and talking and supporting relatives and visitors.
Other support may include:

Reading to the patient

Playing games with the patient
-
Helping the patient to write letters
-
Therapeutic activities with the patient (e.g. hand massage)

Occasionally running an errand for the patient

Helping the patient to create a memory box
-
Support the staff with offering drinks/snacks to patients and their visitors (following a handover and under direction of the RN in charge)

Practical help on the in-patient unit such as bringing meals from the kitchen

Shop Volunteers (URGENTLY REQUIRED FOR NEWARK)
Newark Shops: Monday – Saturday - between 9.00am - 4.00pm
Southwell Shop: Monday – Saturday - between 9.00am - 4.00pm
Collingham Shop: Monday – Saturday - between 12.00pm - 4.00pm
Even just a couple of hours in the afternoon would help massively.
Shop Volunteers
At Beaumond House, our retail volunteers are involved in all aspect of the shops, from sorting donations to taking payment at the till. In our Newark, Collingham and Southwell shops. Hours to suit.
Fundraising Volunteers
We are always looking for new volunteers to expand our team of fundraisers. Being a fundraiser isn’t just about standing in the street with a collecting bucket. Duties in this role can include helping at events, manning a stall, bag-packing, helping with tasks in the fundraising office during busy periods and in the run up to events or just raising our profile. There is no minimum commitment and whenever possible, timings are flexible to suit the individual volunteer.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. 9.00am - 3.00pm
Will need to be physically fit and able to haul furniture.
