Christmas can be a difficult time when someone special is no longer here to share it with us. Light up a Life offers a chance to pause, reflect and remember loved ones in a warm and supportive setting, alongside others who understand.
Through our Virtual Christmas Tree and annual remembrance service, Light up a Life brings our community together during the festive season. Everyone is welcome to take part, regardless of whether they have a connection to Beaumond House. By making a dedication and supporting the campaign, you'll not only remember someone special, but also help us continue providing compassionate hospice care and support to local patients and families.

Join us for our Light up a Life Service
We warmly invite you to St Mary Magdalene Church, Newark NG24 1JS on Wednesday 9 December at 6.00pm (service starts at 6.30pm) for an evening of remembrance, reflection and hope.
The service will include:

Join Shirley, who is remembering her husband John
For Shirley, whose husband John was cared for by Beaumond House after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, Light up a Life has become an important part of remembering him.
"I'll always remember John, and attending Light up a Life helps me do that. Being there, lighting a candle and placing a dedication on the tree is comforting. That's probably the best word for it.
"My daughter has attended with me, and together we've found comfort in the event and everything it represents. It has brought a sense of peace during a very difficult time."

“John was a devoted family man. He would do anything for anyone if he could. About two months after his diagnosis, his mobility started to decline and I was struggling to cope. The support from Beaumond House made a huge difference - it helped take some of the pressure off me and meant I could spend time being John’s wife, rather than always being his carer.
How your Light up a Life donation helps
This year, providing care and support to patients and their families is expected to cost Beaumond House a total of £2.8million. Statutory funding contributes around 21% towards this, leaving £2.2million which will need to be raised through donations, our shops, and support from local businesses throughout Newark and Sherwood.
When you dedicate a light in memory of someone special, you're helping Beaumond House Hospice Care continue to provide compassionate support to local people facing life-limiting illnesses and bereavement.
Your donation helps us offer personalised care tailored to each individual's needs, whether that's Hospice at Home support, wellbeing services, emotional and psychological support, practical guidance, or bereavement care for families and loved ones.
