Christmas at Beaumond House - Creating Moments That Matter
Christmas at Beaumond House is a time filled with warmth, tradition and gentle joy. Our hospice is a truly special place - a place of peace, love and laughter, where families can be together, often during the most precious moments of their lives. Here, care doesn’t pause for the festive season. It continues, day and night, with compassion at its heart. For many families, Christmas at the hospice may be the last they spend together, and we do everything we can to make it meani

These lights remind us of hope, of love, of the warmth that endures even in the coldest of winters. In the hospice, we learn that light takes many forms. Understanding Life, Laughter and Loss in Hospice Care
People often ask me how I do the job I do. How I go to work facing the possibility of death on a regular basis. They ask how I do a job that would be hard enough anyway but throw in adverse personal circumstances. Personally, I think if you ask most of us at Beaumond House our experiences are the driving factor for working in Palliative Care. How I see it... I may not be the best Nurse clinically nor the one who shows the most empathy and certainly do not come to me for

Marian’s Journey - Courage, Comfort and Care at Home
After being diagnosed with cancer in 2018, Marian was given four to eight months to live. Following the diagnosis, the family soon realised that Marian had been misdiagnosed for some years. Once they got over the initial shock, Marian’s attitude switched to ‘We have a lot to fit in then’ and that is exactly what they did. Marian and husband Les bought a boat and enjoyed days out until that became too much. They swapped the boat for a car, and then the car for a van big enough

When a vacancy arose at Beaumond House, I was excited to apply. I had always loved

Sue’s Journey: Family, Friends, and the Hospice That Felt Like Home
Sue was a mum, Granny (Nee Nee), sister, mother-in-law and friend. She was a proud dog mum to Treacle and they loved their trips down to Dorset to walk along the Studland Bay beach.
