The Big Give 2023 - Thank You

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, Beaumond House secured an amazing £11,403.75 (including Gift Aid) in the Big Give Christmas Challenge last year. The 2023 campaign has been submitted and we need your help to raise even more vital funds for your local hospice.

The project ‘The Loneliness of Diagnosis’ highlights the feelings that many of our patients and their carers and family members face. A terminal diagnosis for many causes friends to disappear, doors close, seclusion and solitude set in.

At Beaumond House Hospice Care, we know that almost a quarter of our current caseload of patients live alone. However, feelings of loneliness and isolation are not restricted to the patient. These feelings can extend to family members and carers of individuals with a life-limiting illness. Loneliness impacts upon both mental and physical health considerably compromising the immune system.

With your help, we want to raise £12,500 in just one week, to help combat loneliness in patients and their carers and family members by providing a range of services encouraging interaction, socialisation, and connection. This funding will enable us to provide our free Day Therapy service, provide transport, activities, and a nutritious home-cooked meal five days a week through the winter months.

The provision extends to carers and family members through support groups and Wellbeing services.

Chris is the son of one of our patients. This is Chris’s story.

Can you pledge your support today?

We need to raise at least £3,125 in pledges to enable us to meet our campaign target. Your pledge to support means that we can make a difference to every individual that enters the Hospice. We truly believe that everyone matters throughout their life and that no one should live with avoidable pain, suffering or emotional distress. Coping with a terminal diagnosis is challenging, Beaumond House seeks to provide support and help that meets both the patients’ needs and those of the family.

The Big Give model is complex, but by pledging, you are promising to match donations we receive later in the year when the campaign goes live. The great news is that if you can and do pledge today, you will not have to pay anything until the campaign ends. You can pledge as little as £100. If you’re not able to pledge your support to Beaumond House right now you do have a bit of time.
