It’s Volunteer Week and at Beaumond House Hospice we’re highlighting and celebrating the important work of our incredible helpers. They’re a crucial part of our team and contribute to almost all areas of our work. Without their time and support, we couldn’t provide our vital services.
Our wonderful volunteers give us a combined 154.5 hours of their own time and we are incredibly grateful.
Jayne Wright, Beaumond House Volunteer says
“I love volunteering in Day Therapy on a Wednesday. We make sure that everyone is well cared for and has the best day possible. We have such a laugh with so many different activities but we also make time to just listen and give comfort when required.
Everyone at Beaumond House is so friendly, caring and welcoming, I feel like part of a family! I also love helping out at fundraising events when I can, it’s so important to help to raise much needed funds for such a special place.

There’s no denying it’s been a difficult two years but our volunteers are a dedicated and committed bunch. As a result, they’ve continued to help us make a huge difference to our patients, their families and our local communities.
Beaumond House Chief Executive, Heidi Hawkins agrees, “without our volunteers doing what they do in every area of our charity, we simply couldn’t deliver our care to the people who need it in the way that we do.”
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, we’re always very keen to hear from you. Beaumond House provides training and development opportunities and we offer a wide range of roles, including:
· Shop volunteers (urgently required)
· Hospice reception volunteers
· Volunteer drivers
· Facilities volunteer
· Event/fundraising volunteers
