A popular singer is using his fund-raising talents to raise money for Beaumond House.
James Talbot started live sing-along sessions on Facebook to entertain family and friends during lock down. They became so popular he decided to hold garden sales too and raise money for Newark Hospital.
He has now reached his target for the hospital and so has decided that Beaumond House should be the next charity to benefit.
“I just want to do something to help the community,” he said.
“Beaumond House does such a marvellous job and I wanted to do something to help them.”
He has already started fundraising for the hospice but will hold an official launch on November 10, two days after his first Beaumond House sing-along.
The garden sales are held at his home – 168 Devon Road, Newark, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and the sing-along on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Donations of clothes, bric-a-brac and toys have come from far and wide and James is happy to accept more.
“I have been overwhelmed by the support from everybody,” he said.
The fundraising for Beaumond House, which will also include raffles, will continue until July when James will then start helping another local charity.
