Hospice Care: More Than You Think
Karen Brown, Head of Care - Beaumond House Hospice Care
When people hear “hospice,” they often think of pain management and medical support. And while that’s certainly part of the story, it’s far from the whole picture.
At Beaumond House, hospice care means living fully, loving deeply, and celebrating every moment. It’s about nurturing the emotional, social, spiritual, and practical needs of each person, and extending that care to their loved ones too.
Celebrating Life, One Moment at a Time
Life doesn’t pause at Beaumond House. Our team goes above and beyond to mark milestones and create memories. From summer tea parties under the sunshine to Christmas celebrations in February, from candlelit anniversary dinners to making weddings possible. We ensure that joy finds its way in, no matter the circumstance. Even the smallest gestures, like a homemade biscuit for a devoted carer or a birthday cake for a loved one, can mean everything.
Bringing Home to You
Hospice care is personal. For some, home is where they want to be, and we make that possible with dedicated support. For others, when staying at home isn’t an option, we bring the essence of home into Beaumond House itself: comfort, warmth, and familiarity that makes every patient feel truly at ease.
The Heart of Hospice
Hospice care holds space for sadness, but it also overflows with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. It can be a heartfelt conversation, a gentle hand massage, or even a visit from a therapy animal. Most importantly, it is about ensuring every person is seen, valued, and supported.
This Hospice Care Week, we’re proud to show that hospice is so much more than you think. It’s about life, love, and making every moment count.
