Hospice UK Day of Action – Beaumond House Statement, 15 April 2026

Today, hospice leaders from across the country are at Westminster to meet with MPs and make the case for fair and sustainable hospice funding. Beaumond House Hospice are proud to stand united with our hospice colleagues from across the UK and stand behind Hospice UK's four-point plan for fair funding. A plan that calls for full funding of specialist palliative care, fair NHS contracts, a sustainable funding model, and an end to the postcode lottery which means that, at present, the quality of your end-of-life care can depend on where you live.

Currently, 60% of hospices across the UK have already made, or are having to consider, reductions in service. With 75% of hospices, including Beaumond House, running at a financial deficit this year.

Demand for personalised hospice care is growing, our population is ageing, and our costs to provide personalised care will continue to increase.

This year the gap between our costs and our funding will be £2.2 million, this gap must be raised through donations, our shops, and the incredible support from our local communities.

This campaign matters to us, and to the people we support across our communities each year. A new sustainable funding model is essential as everyone in our communities deserves dignity, comfort, and compassionate care at the end of their life.
