In Memory of Marian - Les’s Lasting Gift to Beaumond House

At Beaumond House, we are beyond grateful to Les Reid for his continued support and generosity in memory of his beloved wife, Marian.

Les recently raised enough funds to purchase two syringe drivers for the hospice. Syringe Drivers are vital pieces of equipment that provide regulated pain relief for patients in their final days. Both are now in use at the hospice and carry a gold plaque that reads:‘By Les Reid, in memory of Marian’.

Les’s late wife Marian was cared for by our Hospice at Home team, and during her final days when her pain could no longer be managed with liquid medication, a syringe driver made all the difference. Les learned how to operate it himself, determined to give Marian the comfort she needed.

From garden parties to head shaves, Les has raised nearly £6,000 since 2022 helping to fund rise and recline chairs, and now, the syringe drivers. Les very deservingly, won the ‘Best Fundraiser’ category at the Palliative and End of Life Care Awards in London last year.

Les, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do. Your dedication, honesty, and warmth touch everyone at Beaumond House. Marian’s legacy lives on in the care and dignity your support helps us provide every day.
