Nottingham Piscatorial Society Raises £1,000 for Beaumond House Hospice Care

ree

Beaumond House Hospice Care is delighted to announce that the Nottingham Piscatorial Society (NPS) has raised £1,000 through its annual Presidents Challenge fishing competition.

Organised by the Society’s President Frank Hudspeth, the charity invitation match brought members together not only on the water but also in a shared spirit of generosity. Donations were received from those who attended the match and from members who were unable to take part. A raffle, managed on the day by Competitions Secretary Kev Berry, also contributed to the fundraising total.

The event held a personal significance for the Society. Two years ago, a close friend of the president, Frank, received respite care at Beaumond House during his terminal illness. Despite his circumstances, he often spoke warmly of the kindness and compassion shown to him during his time at the hospice. It was this moving experience that inspired the President to select Beaumond House as this year’s charity.

A total of £445 was raised through the event, which the NPS Committee then generously matched and rounded up to £1,000. On Monday 8th September, representatives from the Society, including Dale Whittaker (Secretary), Mark Morris (Chairman), and the President Frank Hudspeth, presented the cheque to Beaumond House Chief Executive, Louise Sinclair, and Registered Nurse, Anna-Marie Ramage.

Louise Sinclair, Chief Executive of Beaumond House, said:

“We are truly touched by the Nottingham Piscatorial Society’s generosity and the heartfelt reason behind their support. It was an honour to meet Dale, Mark and (presidents name) and accept this generous donation on behalf of Beaumond House. Acts of kindness like this remind us how our work touches the lives of local people. We are so grateful to everyone involved in the Presidents Challenge.”

Every penny will help the hospice to provide compassionate palliative care to patients and families in Newark & Sherwood.

Beaumond House extends its heartfelt thanks to all members of the Nottingham Piscatorial Society for their generosity, kindness, and ongoing support of local hospice care.
