Race for Beaumond House at this year's Newark Dragon Boat Festival!

We are delighted to announce that Beaumond House will be entering a boat at this year's Newark Dragon Boat Festival for the first time in several years, and we are inviting you to be part of this exciting event.


We are assembling a team to represent Beaumond House on race day and are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our crew.

Whether you are an experienced paddler or simply looking for a fun and memorable day out, we would be thrilled to have you on board as part of #TeamBH.


As a valued member of the team, you will receive:

  • A Team Beaumond House t-shirt

  • Encouragement and support from the Beaumond House community

  • The opportunity to take part in a fantastic local event while supporting two important local charities


This is a wonderful chance to enjoy a unique experience, build team spirit, and make a meaningful contribution to your community.


Do I need to have experience? 🛶

All water-based activity is managed by NewWave Events. NewWave has over 10 years’ experience in the events industry. Their staff have a range of extensive knowledge and expertise in corporate team building events and have delivered hundreds of dragon boating events nationwide.

Each team is given a full safety briefing before their first race, which along with best paddle technique and how to stop the boat capsizing as well as what to do in the event of a capsize.

Participants will be guided in all aspects of paddle technique & teamwork by experienced helms.

Each team receives a minimum of three races with the fastest teams going through to semis and the final.

Buoyancy vests and full safety cover are provided.

No experience necessary! 

 

Do I need to fundraise? 💷

The entry fee is £125 per crew member.

You may choose to pay this yourself or ask for donations through fundraising or sponsorship.


There are two options:


Fundraised Paddler - a £25 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, an additional £100 must be raised. You can fundraise in a number of ways, but any donations made to you in cash will need to be received by Beaumond House no later than Friday 5th September.


Outright Paddler - make a payment in full of £125.Whilst the entry fee to take part is £125, you are welcome to fundraise and set your own personal target higher.

 

Will Beaumond House help set up a fundraising page? 💳

Yes. 

Beaumond House will set up a Raisley page for fundraising. You will be provided with a link which you can share on your social media pages. 

We will also promote the team Raisley page on our social media platforms.


The Dragon Boat Festival is jointly organised and managed by Beaumond House and the Children’s Bereavement Centre, with all profits, including donations made through Raisley being split evenly between the two charities.

 

Can I invite my family and friends to watch on the day? 🎤🕺🍦

Absolutely!

In addition to the racing, there will be a free family fun day taking place at Riverside Park. 

With an array of local food vendors, activities, inflatables, live entertainment and a licensed bar, there is something for everyone!
