We are proud to say that we are continuing to run all the patient services, supporting patients in the hospice and patients and their families in their own homes, either in person or virtually. Bereavement support is offered as a telephone service making contact with bereaved relatives at a time when this is needed most.
Our hospice updates have been somewhat dependent of the level of risk identified for our area or nationally and we will continue to adapt visiting and risk reduction measures in response to these risks.
Our aim is to ensure all those needing care, support and advice in the last years, months and days of life receive what they need to cope. This maybe help with planning ahead and discussing care options and preferences as people become more affected by their condition. For those living at home and coping independently or being supported with care packages contact with the hospice can complement care in offering our hospice expertise. It could be practical hands on care or extended visits to support caring at home that is needed. The in-patient unit can provide short term nursing care for times when symptoms are troublesome, extra care needed or in final days of life.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports the hospice in so many different ways, helping us to continue to provide care and support to those who need it either in Beaumond House or their own home.
If you or someone you know needs our support, please do call and speak to one of the team who will be happy to help and advise you. All our care is provided free of charge and is not means tested or affected by other care you may be receiving.
